As part of the redevelopment of Arendsplein, three residential apartment buildings were constructed, comprising a total of 135 apartments. One of these buildings is Altera. The development accommodates 68 apartments and is distinguished by its unique building configuration. The building consists of a robust three-storey lower structure, topped by four additional storeys that are set back at various locations, creating a stepped architectural form. This distinctive configuration gives the building its characteristic appearance while presenting specific structural engineering challenges that required careful consideration throughout the design process.

For this project, Bekendam Adviesbureau voor Bouwconstructie was responsible for the structural engineering as the lead structural consultant.
